@Hellybootwader@mastodon.scot Do you know anyone with a kiln or torch? You could re-enamel the needles. It may require sandblasting to prep the affected areas and transition over to existing enamel.
They also make porcelain top coats; a layer of that may be worthwhile if it will bond directly to metal. It would give you a more enamel-like surface and protect the metal from rusting.
