@Arapalla@aus.social How old is Twiggy?
It never occurred to me until I saw a post where a person explained they start their potential future guide dogs wearing a jumper very young so they don't think twice about a guide dog outfit, but do ppeople who raise horses do something similar with very young horses? If not, why not?

@Axomamma@mastodon.online Twiggy is a 4 year old. We try to get a halter on the horses and train them to lead as early as we can. Under 6 months preferably. After that you get dragged around the park in the early stages. Rugs can be done at any age. Starting, for us, is about 3 years old. Any younger and their bodies aren't really ready for it.
