@halfbyte@ruby.social Isn't there even a EU form of a coop? 🤔 It might be worth trying to figure out if SMBs would be interested in such a model. Being a member (not shareholder, I think this is wrong term, but IANAL) typically grants equal rights, regardless how many coop shares they have. Which might be seen as a big advantage to some, but to others it might be quite off-putting. I personally think, for commercial hosting, a coop is a much better model, compared to an association (Verein).

    @tisba@ruby.social @halfbyte@ruby.social The EU version( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Societas_cooperativa_Europaea) has a biiiig disadvantage: you need at least 30k of capital to start it.
