@dvandal@infosec.exchange These are (allegedly) professionals who are paid to figure this stuff out. There's a huge difference between pointing someone in the right direction and doing their job for them. (If they *are* trying to get them to do my job for me, I refer them to my manager and ask if they want me formally assigned this task. Because I will happily help them but only if management considers it more important than my current task.)

@suetanvil@freeradical.zone I talked about it a little in another post somewhere in this thread, but this situation was a fun combo of the guy deliberately brushing off boundaries being set because it was more convenient to ignore them and ultimately having to use management to have a conversation with him to leave me alone after I explicitly outline the timeline with specific events, screenshots, and so forth to be like “Look I’m not just being irritable this has been reprehensible and deliberate on his part with a complete and absolute total disregard to the boundaries I’ve set. Here is where he just slammed snark towards me when I said I needed space, here is where he just completely ignored it and kept pushing when I told him ‘I don’t know, I don’t have the time to help.’” etc. I tried just not replying and the response was he was stuck for 3 days over a variable being null and taking no initiative to investigate why. He shaped up afaik after he got talked to about it, but he also for the most part stopped talking to me altogether afterwards, likely because he was mad that I “tattled” It… was not a very good workplace for a lotta reasons lol I just glad that I’m done with that company and moving someplace else where I likely won’t be dealing with the same issues, while also coming in as a Senior to boot, so I will have a much easier time putting my foot down on stuff rather than being harassed and badgered by a dude who’s 3+ years my senior and paid $20k more than I was because he spent too much with with ChatGPT and rotted his social skills in the process.
