one of the more interesting buildings I used to routinely wander in back in Miami had the remains of like four different generations of security systems in it and none of them worked. I intentionally did things to trigger as many sensors as I could (assuming any still worked and/or were monitored) and looking for later evidence of anyone checking the space. Nada!

@lolcat@digipres.club Sadly I'm seeing evidence that it's probably been more thoroughly stripped out and renovated, but one of the more surreal ones I remember was the former Omni Mall space in Miami. I found at least one extremely reliable way to get into it and also a weird area on the first floor that had been a nightclub last used in the 80s! The aerial photos of the building now are perplexing - there's astroturf on what used to be the entrance to a conference center on the upper floors...???
