@johnettesnuggs @MBNashTN @BlippyTheWonderSlug @purplepadma According to the Hebrew Bible, God murdered some people. According to the Christian Bible, God will send almost everyone to infinite eternal torment. Which of those is more morally repugnant? Repeating the "OT god is smitey, NT god is loving" trope doesn't mean you hate Jewish people. But you were taught those examples by people who saw Christianity as good and Judaism as bad, and who cherry picked examples to impose a pattern on the Bible that isn't there. They COULD have taught you that "Love your neighbor as yourself" is a quote from Leviticus, while the New Testament promises that God will put people in a wine press until their blood pours out in a river, and then an angel will call birds down to eat their bodies. I wonder why they didn't teach us that?
