@lritter@mastodon.gamedev.place Wasaburō in fact chose Esperanto because he was trying to interest previously unresponsive Western scientists. A leading expert in Esperanto, he also knew that it had rapidly growing interest across numerous countries. Japan was not at war with the US before 1944. This was 20 years earlier.
