    @klittle667@tweesecake.social Well, that's delightfully obnoxious. I've been playing with the GL.Inet routers lately, and they probably do have something written on them, but you don't need it as long as you have an ethernet port. The first time you bring up the gateway in a browser, you're asked to set a new password. If someone somehow managed to get unauthorized physical access to the router and do this step before you can, you just hold the reset button for a few seconds and start over. I think many consumer routers avoid this in favour of easy setup. Most people don't need the admin password, so why force users to go through the extra step of setting it? But when it doesn't even try to be an easy-to-read string, it creates so much more friction for someone who actually does need it.
