Unless the rope is very recent, there wasn't one when I was there.
And, the mountain's crater is growing a football size a year. You can hear the lava bubbling from the ledge

@apple_dumplin@noauthority.social What I remember is that the rock fall was continuous in the crater, and it made the crater sound as though it was one huge bowling alley, rumbling away 24/7.
