Also, semantics is the study of words' meaning - very important for shared understandings! It's kinda weird how it's become a colloquialism for fussing about something other than meaning. Language \o/

Like basically any statement I read into it the obvious subtext that every sentence is worded from the perspective of it's speaker: I'm not gonna be like "Well actually I need you to state that it's backwards IN YOUR VIEW" (it's your statement, of course it's in your view)
