Interesting development on the possibility of obtaining Canadian citizenship. I was born in NZ, but Canada does not differentiate between US and NZ, even though both NZ and Canada are British Commonwealths. However, I have a Canadian great-Grandfather, and somehow a new law allows citizenship by descent over multiple generations. Documentation is critical, but my sister, the family historian, has birth certificates etc. going back to the 1870s. I remain skeptical, but hopeful.

@Doppelganger75@mastodon.world That actually sounds promising, citizenship by descent laws have changed in a lot of places recently, and documentation really is everything in cases like this. Having records that go back that far is a huge advantage. Skeptical but hopeful feels like exactly the right mindset.
