@TimKStanton@mstdn.social last June we crossed over a high pass between Spain and France. No guards, no signs, nothing. Just glorious windswept mountainside. Must say, it did give me quite a thrill.

@TimKStanton@mstdn.social and I guess they were undernourished, ill-equipped and ill prepared for such a mountain journey. Often in winter conditions when the chance of meeting border patrols was lessened.
