@jasongorman@mastodon.cloud @halfbyte@ruby.social I’ve seen similar arguments made many times. It’s true in the literal sense. But also some people want to get to the place 42 km away and don’t really want to run. Similarly some people want to practice software development and others only want the software. In this metaphor you still get to the place but faster and less sweaty. You’re not wrong but also not everyone needs to become a software developer or a marathon runner.
