One of the reasons that emacs appealed to me was that it didn't have modal editing and arbitrary keybindings. I was a vim user for about 5 years and always had logical issues with vim bindings from mnemonic perspective. I used Doom Emacs for about a year and loved how easy it is to config, and after that I started my own Emacs config from scratch using Emacs-style keybindings. I tend to keep the default bindings but sometimes I change them around.

@Mehrad@fosstodon.org Do you happen to use a normal keyboard for this or would it be split keys with home row mods?
