In somewhat related news, yesterday I finally lit the bonfire of garden waste, tree branches and other stuff, slowly accumulated over more than six years. We’d had more than 10mm of rain the day before, a fresh layer of snow had just melted into the ground, and the winds had died down enough, making for perfect (controlled) bonfire conditions. Only problem is that with so much to burn, most of it soaked through by multiple winters, I was stuck tending to it until after 2am this morning. 🥱
