@gatogatogato@ohai.social I opened FreeCad a couple of times before but haven't warmed up to it yet. Usability wise i liked Shapr3D the best thus far. But now that I understand a bit more about the CAD world I might get along better with FreeCAD

@hukl@chaos.social FreeCAD’s GUI isn't very self explanatory out of the box, but it's highly customisable. There are great tutorials on YT, also regarding the GUI setup and plugins. I had to get used to the CAD/construction way of thinking but once you have the basic principles under your belt it's just a lovely pastime, plus, combined with 3D printing you have no limits on what you can do. Just another skill that's really handy. Must have a look at Shapr3D as well.
