@sebastian@schottkydio.de ha this sounds excellent fun! The background to this is I am designing a 4 axis hot wire foam cutter and I kinda suspected that the 3D printing might be not a problem for many, but that an M5 tap might be a problem. I'm designing out the need to tap a metal part!

@concretedog@mastodon.social We designed a custom variant of the medel max at the local hackerspace back in 2014. It was built using 2020 extrusion. We designed it such that we can scale up parts procurement and started offering "build a 3d printer" workshops. (4 days building a printer and 5th day for walking people through their first prints) We did about 10 printers at a time. I got really good at extracting broken tabs at some point.
