@concretedog@mastodon.social very much not an engineer but I thought there was something about even sized bolts? Or does that only apply above something like m6? I've never seen an M7 or M9 bolt for instance, but I have a bunch of M3 bolts.

@emily_s@mastodon.me.uk no M5 M7 M9 all pretty common. M5 used a ton in bikes (pannier mounts, bottle cage mounts etc) all the 20/40 aluminium extrusions have end holes that are 4.2mm ready to be tapped M5!
