This is not about getting something back that was taken. It is about remembering what was already there before the taking began. That distinction matters. Recovery implies you were broken. Memory implies you were covered. Those are not the same thing. One asks you to build something new. The other asks you to excavate what is still there underneath everything the myth stacked on top of it.

The work does not ask you to trust. Trust has to be earned and the myth has given you every reason not to extend it freely. What the work asks for is older and quieter than trust. It asks you to remember. To locate the version of you that existed before the performance began. Before you learned that belonging required you to make yourself smaller, more palatable, less certain, more useful to the comfort of everyone around you.
