@anildash@me.dm @reflex@retrogaming.social Not least amongst those externalities being that "AI" as offered is yet another way for capital to commoditize labor, resulting in a further acceleration of the massive shift of value away from the working classes, directly to the very rich. And the environmental costs, and the plagiarism, and the unreliable results. It's too much of a cost, and I refuse to bear it, so yes, I will fight this technology, and every corporation shoving it needlessly into their products.

@anildash@me.dm Forgive me for the criticism here, because I am a big fan of your posts, but it's perhaps because I am such a fan of your insight and acuity that I'm disappointed that you haven't joined these particular dots in the same way I have. Anyhow. Hugs regardless, I still look forward to your next posts.

@tartley@fosstodon.org @anildash@me.dm The recent wave of articles by people like Doctorow, Evan Prodromou, etc claiming 'ethical' AI use as a way to...avoid hiring someone to do a task for them is a good demonstration of this aspect. Even supposed allies who should know better will purposefully devalue labor at every opportunity, no matter how minor.
