@lkanies@hachyderm.io But yes, what may have started as a lazy choice by a software vendor, became a sign of unwelcome for a lot of people (amongst a lot of other resentments towards immigrants). I don’t think it’s possible to prevent this upfront all the time (we all have blind spots, ignorance and incompetence) but we need to make inclusivity a priority and have willingness to change and fix mistakes.
