@jeremystucki@vis.social with that kind of thing I always wonder how much of it is intentional, a kind of systemic statement of unwelcome. I know the US has a general “changing your name is a key part of assimilation” culture.

@lkanies@hachyderm.io At least in this case it seemed to be a technical limitation of certain software systems. After an almost 7-year-long political process it’s supposed to change beginning 2024.
