@chucker@norden.social @slomo@toot.cat wow. I’ve never seen that. I first learned about the ae -> ä from a bar in Germany. It had a bunch of old street signs with words on them that I knew, but I also knew the current words used umlauts. So that was my first clue about how they used to be written, then I noticed the switching happen much more regularly.
