Found out today using Instagram is part of my kid's grade 11 apprenticeship. Teacher was scolding the class today for not posting enough of their work.

@silvermoon82@wandering.shop OMG that's maddening. I turned the "post an Instagram story" option in one of my assignments into a Pixelfed gallery-based photo essay instead. That way the profs who don't have Instagram accounts could actually see the whole thing they were asking for, since Instagram cuts non-logged-in users off. WTF are some teachers doing - we've got governments going off in all unsubstantiated directions trying to keep kids OFF "social media" while school boards are driving kids onto it.
