@babetteknauer@mastodon.social I hope I didn't sound too harsh ... I have a lot of frustrations with this, as I've been at it from many angles, in or adjacent to academia, for more than half a lifetime. I have ideas! Want to help push that lever when I see how it could help!
But the frustration gets out in front, too. 😬 Had to bite my tongue again in an introductory seminar last night when my prof said "and you'll be posting your final lightning talk on Instagram" ... no. just no.

@johannab@cosocial.ca No, not at all! We want to hear about these frustrations. Your remark about having no socials at all is something we've been thinking about, too. But we'd like to engage in discussions with the community first and look into alternatives before taking decisions. Please keep sharing ideas :)
