@RoseRaven@eldritch.cafe hey Rose, great choice going with the 'Deck for your kid. They're fantastic. This error seems to pop up all to regularly, and there's a reddit thread with various solutions, all of which seem to be around using a different network connection (switching from 5GHz to 2.4GHz, or using a phone hotspot), and/or ensuring the device has the correct date and time set (an incorrect date/time can cause secure signing of the update to fail): https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/uhlykf/update_error_an_error_was_encountered_during_the/
