I'm very disappointed in the Netherlands election results, but not nearly as panicked as my Dutch friends. Perhaps I am too optimistic about the resilience of a multiparty parliamentary system, or maybe I’ve just been too acclimated by US politics I hope we look back at this one as a wake-up call about proactively engaging citizens beyond urban centers.
