A couple of weeks ago, following a hospital procedure, I asked staff if it was OK to resume a reduced dosage of Metformin to help control my blood glucose.
I was told it was OK to try but to monitor my levels closely.
So I went onto a single tablet in the morning, I had ceased a few months ago having had nasty side-effects from two daily tablets.
The result was disturbing, my glucose levels increased in the order of 20 to 25% higher than the normal average.
I decided on Friday last week to stop taking them again. Since then my glucose levels have returned to their stable levels. I have not had any major dietary changes.
