One of my takeaways aside from the active pursuit of community-building and encouraging beginners to begin dabbling, one of my takeaways was that my memory of emacs is quite grounded in what I remember emacs being like 10 years ago, and emacs and its modes are actually very actively growing and evolving, so if I say something I remember from 5 years ago, and it hasn't been true for the last 3 years, I look very silly.

It is quite true that Emacs and its environment keep growing and evolving¹. It is not true that you would look silly if you say something that used to be true but no longer is, if you do that in good faith. _________ ¹ My personal favorite is lexical binding. @screwlisp@gamerplus.org @marcoxa@mastodon.social @yantar92@fosstodon.org @mdhughes@appdot.net @me

@screwlisp@gamerplus.org @marcoxa@mastodon.social @mdhughes@appdot.net @me This makes me wonder if you are up to date about native compilation of Elisp.
