The logistics of power, or rather, power through logistics. I wonder what David Graeber would have thought about this w/ respect to civilization. I'm also wondering how this applies in the modern world. I suspect it is competely applicable but just with different time & distance scales. And perhaps the addition of one more type of resource added to the mix; data- > information -> knowledge -> wisdom (compare with grass -> sheep -> wool -> thread -> textiles -> clothes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIqpvpNS5pI

Actually, in addition to DKIM/science/technology as a refined resource stream, there is the addition of fossil fuels (coal, then oil & gas) as transportable stores of energy. The industrial revolution wildly distorted things with the addition of these. You get dynamic changes to the "landscape" with them. Now we have the knowledge of renewable resource (solar/wind/battery) that doesn't have the flow problems of oil & gas (but does suffer from process knowledge flow logistics).
