Actually, in addition to DKIM/science/technology as a refined resource stream, there is the addition of fossil fuels (coal, then oil & gas) as transportable stores of energy. The industrial revolution wildly distorted things with the addition of these. You get dynamic changes to the "landscape" with them. Now we have the knowledge of renewable resource (solar/wind/battery) that doesn't have the flow problems of oil & gas (but does suffer from process knowledge flow logistics).
