@d1@autistics.life @SteveClough@metalhead.club @gildilinie@beige.party Like the automobile, the personal computer is a marvellous tool, but it's a profound mistake to reorganize society around the expectation that everyone learn to use a complex tool and require them to use them all the time.

@foolishowl@social.coop @d1@autistics.life @gildilinie@beige.party It is a profound mistake that people should adapt to new technology, rather than the other way around. OK, early days, you might expect the early adopters to adjust. But when you are talking mass tech, it should adjust to people, not the other way around. (That was a core part of my PhD, so yes, I am passionate about it. And I have seen, since I finished, things have gone backwards, not forward. It is tragic/disgraceful).
