I am guessing here, looks like majority of people are after 'awards', not chatting, and that moves traffic towards FT8.
I am also one who rarely does voice work, since I just don't like talking on a mic. Digital modes are much more comfortable for me. I could have never racked up thousands of log entries if I was doing voice.

@M0KHR@mastodon.radio I love data modes, don't get me wrong. But sometimes I want something a bit different. I've called CQ on 15m previously using JS8 and not even had a sniff so tried voice for something different. At this rate I'll have to pull my finger out and learn CW!
