In PaperPile, I just enter a few keywords and click 'cite'. Hard to beat. And essentially any author from any place in the world can contribute on GDoc, including references. All the documents get stored for quick access and it understands document templates from various sources. Standard formatting (figures, tables, legends, equations) also works.
