@valpackett@social.treehouse.systems hi! Interesting about the shell. I remember using chsh on Arch and having weird issues, so I never trusted it. fish docs also say to not set it as default. I've been digging and I think kgx has a hidden setting in dconf to change the shell, so I might just use that.

@valpackett@social.treehouse.systems wrt the black theme, my motivation isn't power usage (there are more significant savings to be had elsewhere, like the shell using 100% cpu), it's just the looks of the system. Especially when it's dark, I find OLED themes much easier on the eyes, and in general more pleasing to look at.

@allpurposemat@mastodon.gamedev.place @valpackett@social.treehouse.systems Huh, I've been using Fish as my login shell for years now, it has never been a problem. Interesting... As long as shell scripts set their she-bang correctly things should be just fine 🤷
