@Feral_3D@mastodon.social well, the "ideal" OS depends on your needs. If you need a "working" phone, right now Android is the only option.
I'm personally running postmarketOS on it because I choose independence from Google, but a lot of stuff I just can't do yet. Non-exhaustive list:
- any form of calling
- banking
- maps navigation via GPS
- non-blurry photos (but colors are getting better!)
- "safe" updates (rollback if something broke / got interrupted)

@allpurposemat@mastodon.gamedev.place GPS routing using NMEA GPS should work. You need to have the modem-gnss service running and that enables NMEA GPS to work through ModemManager.
