Problematises AI as opaque, out of control and is an object to be consumed. It does not have the the same scope of potential as non AI music. Part of the music we "use" rather than consume is open. The things that *could* happen, that we *don't* hear are as important as what we do hear. A lack of potentiality is a totalitarian control.

This opacity is also present in gesture recognition and parameter mapping but is most strongly pronounced in slop. Other 'closed' ideas share this form of thinking. My own conclusion: slop is not a separate and unique thing, but slop thinking - the situation that makes slop attractive - is already present in some overly goal oriented systems, especially when the goals relate to consumption rather than the musical object itself.
