I am helpless while a friend if mine is in a migrants prison, waiting for his deportation tomorrow. He came from Gambia, with 18 years over the Mediterranean. In Lybia, his best friend was killed and he had to work as a slave for half a year. Now he lived for 11 years in Germany. He always thought that when he just worked enough and didn't anything wrong, how would they not let him stay here?

Now he is in jail. Crying. We were trying to fight deportation legally. Now the stat's deportation agency simply advanced the date by one week and the lawyers say that they see no chance anymore. Oh, the lawyers. I talked with so many of them. A bunch of them are brave and great people. I worry about their emotional wellbeing. Imagine working with people in deportation detention as clients. Low success rate. Horrible biographies. So much injustice. Every day.
