@RalphBassfeld@swiss.social In my mind, the difference between automation and what #AI does is that AI is attempting to THINK for us. I don't want that kind of "automation."
I want to be able to tell a smart home light, for example, to turn on 90 minutes before sunset and turn off at 10:30 PM or turn on the floodlights when motion is detected in the driveway at night. Or, when I dictate text that includes the word worth, it doesn't go into my contacts and pull out the last name of one of my friends, Wurth.

@mlanger@mastodon.world If our daily experiences are that AI gets basic commands and automation wrong, why would we believe that it would be better with complex commands.
