@anne_twain@theblower.au There’s no reason a tramline needs to be an obstacke to this. We have pedestrian crossings over tramlines everywhere in the Netherlands. @jessta@aus.social

    @Saket@appdot.net @anne_twain@theblower.au Yeah, no space between the tracks. But it's the parking/clear-way ans the amount of traffic that is the problem. It's such a long way to cross during peak times (after 4pm). If you removed the parking/clear-way and put in a bicycle lane and accessible tram stops then the crossing distance would only be significantly reduced and if you added a modal filter part way up Sydney Rd you could divert traffic to CityLink and it would be better for everyone.

    @Saket@appdot.net @jessta@aus.social A pedestrian refuge where I live has physical barricades, as in this photo. They're placed where there is no pedestrian crossing.
