So I'm still working on my consort post, but can I say just how much of a political dance being a consort or queen is? You're only chosen as a consort if you have any value, and would only be chosen as queen (or at least the primary queen) if you offer the most to king, and by extension the kingdom. Love is utterly irrelevant in this conversation.
