Don't go nuts of course - plenty of climbers get tendon problems because they climb and climb and climb. But a little really helps. When I start to feel "tight wrists" it's usually because for one reason or another I haven't had a row in a while. So that's my advice - LHTAPTDA.

And if you've never done any exercise, nor do you ever plan to, at least read this: https://web.archive.org/web/20250107072220/https://cohost.org/tomforsyth/post/4111638-exercise-for-nerds-w

@TomF@mastodon.gamedev.place I can second this: my wrist problems went away when I started strength training regularly. Deadlifts are actually good for you, go figure. I don't lift particularly heavy, either: I'm generally working without a spotter so I don't go anywhere near failure on a dangerous lift. I've just been maintaining around bodyweight for deadlifts, bit less than that for squats, etc.

  • @TomF@mastodon.gamedev.place I’ve had many torn pulleys, but not a single wrist problem since I started climbing. I used to have carpal tunnel syndrome back in the day.
