Why is housing scarcity inevitable because of NIMBY, but not data center scarcity? Why is popular sentiment such a larger factor in our residential zoning than our industrial zoning? What's the wind in the sails? Could it be that authority rests not in the hands of the people or their representatives, but instead in a cartel of firms? Could it be that the city council, state, and federal legislatures are aligned in the interests of capital formation at the expense of all else?
