@zanchey@aus.social I setup misroshit stuff on customer machines once in a while and i wish it was as simple as this. I mean you know you can still install skype for business, right? Thats a very significant software in microsoft b2b ecosystem. I was connected to a guy that had the damn thing open just 2 months ago(i wish i took a ss of it, noone believes me). There is outlook(old one), outlook, outlook(classic) and outlook 356, not all outlooks are created equal. old outlook is the only good one.

@void@mastodon.sdf.org @zanchey@aus.social the new outlook is rubbish and has less functionality than the old one. Seems more like Windows Mail, which I think has disappeared now.

@void@mastodon.sdf.org @zanchey@aus.social The spiritual successor to the original Outlook is not Outlook, it's Teams: for a long time, Outlook was a propietary groupware application with some incredibly shaky internet mail capabilities bolted on. (Remember "winmail.dat"? *shudder*) The new Outlook, meanwhile, is the spiritual successor to HotMail (which MS paid big bucks for back in the 90s .com boom). It's a reasonably decent webmail client, and a shim to make it act as a slightly shaky desktop app. All of the above have calendars bolted on. None of them are very good.
