Thank you for your kind and considered comments. I regret posing a rhetorical question. Paddock harvesting vegetables is solid work, and I spent all of last weekend roofing, and yesterday I spent a good part of the day digging and crow-barring stony soil and concrete (I managed to get a power pole, which stands within our boundary and was on a lean, back up to plumb). So, yes, over-worked hands. I left school at 16 years of age and I have spent a large portion of the subsequent 47 years exchanging manual labour for wages. Aside from the occasional minor injury, no sore hands, but in the past year, meh. My body is ageing, I accept that. Ngā mihi.

@cousinsd@mastodon.nz Ah, apologies for mistaking the rhetorical question! I think bodies do betray us all eventually. I'm starting to see the signs in mine and it doesn't even have the excuse of honest manual labour. @aligorith@mastodon.nz
