@mia @shibao Bluesky had moderate success with the "twitter sucks we're doing our own thing" messaging. My mother in law is on there, anyway. But they heavily compromised on federation to do it, and I think any mainstream app would probably need to do the same. I think a discord clone with an atproto backend (or even just sign-in) would do pretty well.
