So many privileged white suburban civil libertarians are now hiding. They were willing to argue against racism when it advance careers. Even then they were okay as long as the Jeffersons staid urban and not moving to their suburbs ;). My foster father was one of them, he even did some legal work for MLK. But he would NEVER have permitted "one of them" to move into his neighborhood. Today, careers grow doing evil, so he would likely be doing that if he were still around. For them the civil rights era was simply a time when personal ambition happened to align with higher principles,
