@linguacelta@toot.wales @winkelmesser@mastodon.social and on that note, iXML sounds… interesting. Aliases seem to be about to be added, that was the first thing I wondered when reading the spec. The second thing I wonder is whether it can go both ways, i.e. go from the XML back to the source… in which case optional content probably would not be emitted; a possible grammar extension would be to mark something as “do emit it”, like when parsing an ISO 8601 day, the dashes are optional, but I’d want to emit them when going the other way. (Your husband’s implementation’s site seems to be down, too.)
