The best alt text includes something not depicted in the image, merely implied, context or backstory. For example: that the cat stares at the birds out of the window, the the photo shows her face, but not the window, as an explanation for why she looks to the sidesome background to explain the joke/memefocussing on why the photograph chose to frame/highlight something, why the colours are as they are, etc.I liked these best before the age of slop even, as it shows the author cares.
