if there's a school of thought that lends itself perfectly toward knowing what the right thing to do is in any given situation, i don't know it. it'd be nice to always operate with clear instructions, rules, goals, but no rule is truly golden. life's full of messy variables and unknowns and edge cases, and typically there's something (sometimes a big something) lost in the process of trying to make the complex simple. i don't have a solution in mind for this quandary; i wouldn't even know where to start. i think in a lot of cases, it depends. i don't know on what, or why. but it just depends
